Released Portrait Privacy Tool

2026-04-29

When you take photos at events, the faces of unrelated bystanders sometimes get captured in the background.

These days you don't hear about it as often, but there are still people who keep their kigurumi hobby private. Some of them worry that posting photos to SNS like X could lead to their identity being exposed — what's commonly called "doxxing." That's why posting kigurumi photos to social media calls for some thoughtfulness toward bystanders.

It's not difficult, though. All you need to do is blur the faces of bystanders so they can't be identified. This tool makes that easy for anyone to do, right in the browser.

What kind of app is it?

When you run a photo through the Portrait Privacy Tool before posting it to X, the AI detects faces in the image and applies blur.

The AI's detection isn't perfect, however. It may misidentify a kigurumi performer as a real person, or miss a real person altogether. So you can also use the Brush tool to add blur manually, or the Eraser tool to undo a false positive.

The output image is optimized to a maximum side of 1200px, since X posting is the assumed use case.

Please give it a try

It's still freshly released, so AI false detections or other bugs may occur. If you find any issues, we'd appreciate it if you could let us know.
