みやび生地 (miyabi)

Ideal for events. Velcro won't stick to it, and it resists pilling. The thick fabric is nearly opaque, but you'll need to compromise slightly on wrinkle-free fit.

Features

  • Designed for events
  • Fade resistance. Resistant to chlorine in tap water and bleach. Approximately 1.3 to 1.5 times more wash-resistant than other fabrics.
  • Maximum thickness. This is the thickest fabric in the "tights fabric" category. It has 120% more opacity treatment than fabrics commonly available on the market. It's extremely difficult to see through.
  • Velcro resistance. It repels velcro from light contact. Attaching velcro (hook side) to hadatai(youtube) - Please watch for reference.
  • Less affected by light. Colors don't wash out even in bright sunlight, maintaining close color match with your mask.
Hadatai color in sunlight

↑This photo was taken at midday in clear weather. Please note the color difference between the mask and hadatai.

This is called "color rendition" - hadatai is affected by light intensity. Generally, colors tend to wash out more in bright sunlight, making it easier for the balance between the mask skin color and hadatai skin color to become uneven outdoors compared to indoors. Miyabi fabric is less susceptible to this effect.

Trade-offs

Black stains are difficult to remove

While it has high wash resistance, black stains don't come out easily.

We sell additional gloves separately from the hadatai. Right after delivery, we recommend wearing gloves over your hadatai to learn "what causes stains."

For those particular about a perfect fit

Doll fabric is superior for a skin-tight fit. This fabric prioritizes being somewhat rough-and-ready for meetups and events.

Compared to conventional zentai, we've made the "bust area" and "hip area" looser, sacrificing some fit. This is specifically designed as a hadatai for kigurumi, with the assumption that you'll be padding the chest and hips.

The hip area in particular has extra room. This is to accommodate sitting and padding the hips with urethane.

Not suitable for intimate use

While it resists pilling and velcro adherence, the fibers can break down with repeated friction. Strong repeated friction can cause holes at the fingertip nails.

However, we also sell repair fabric for when holes do occur.
